El Astronaute fancied to continue excellent run this season

El Astronaute (maroon silks): last year's winner has been in excellent form this season
1 of 1

Newmarket:Anthony Burke

Al Mureib(4.10 Goodwood, nap)

Did nothing wrong on debut when runner-up to a smart looking performer at Newmarket a few weeks back. He is sure to have benefited from that run and looks to have been found an ideal opportunity to open his account here.

Others to follow
Goodwood: 1.50 Tuff Rock, 2.25 Blond Warrior, 3.00 Emmaus, 3.35 Stradivarius, 5.15 Labrega.
Yarmouth: 1.40 Tigerfish, 2.15 Mohogany, 2.50 Stepney, 3.25 Final Rock, 4.00 Breaking Records, 4.30 Guardiola, 5.05 Defining Moment.
Beverley: 2.05 Khanmurjan, 4.55 Conflagration.

North:Colin Russell

Dasheen(4.55 Beverley, nap)

Yet to win for current yard though has run creditably on occasions. On a good mark now and with a favourable draw and with the ground easing a touch is fancied to fare much better.

Others to follow
Beverley: 2.05 Arctic Sound, 2.40 Lean On Pete, 3.15 Northernpowerhouse, 3.50 Moonlit Sands, 4.20 Three Saints Bay, 5.30 Breathable, 6.00 Bollin Joan.
Goodwood: 1.50 Thomas Cranmer, 2.25 Drogon, 3.00 Suedois, 4.10 Gainsborough Hat, 4.45 El Astronaute, 5.15 Kalagia.
Perth: 5.45 Imperial Focus, 6.15 Caius Marcius, 6.50 Chanceanotherfive, 7.25 Ballyboker Breeze, 8.00 Great Colaci, 8.30 Boy's On Tour, 9.00 Simply Mani.
Worcester: 7.50 Katebird.
Yarmouth: 1.40 Frank's Legacy, 2.15 Beryl The Petal, 2.50 Helio Bareliere, 4.00 Mujassam.

Lambourn: James Burn

Not So Sleepy(1.50 Goodwood, nap)

Six-year-old appears to like unconventional tracks, is on a decent mark and will enjoy any ease in the ground, so there is plenty in place to suggest a good run.

Others to follow
Goodwood: 2.25 Federal Law, 3.00 Dutch Connection, 4.10 Dirty Rascal, 4.45 A Momentofmadness, 5.15 Zoraya.
Perth: 8.30 Between The Waters.
Worcester: 6.05 Brave Eagle, 8.50 Carntop.
Yarmouth: 2.15 Bug Boy, 4.30 Tai Sing Yeh.

West Country:Andrew King

Qualando(6.05 Worcester, nap)

Has been knocking at the door and it could well open in his favour as the step up in distance should suit.

Others to follow
Worcester: 6.40 Coeur Tantre, 7.15 Fingerontheswitch, 8.20 Green Or Black.
Beverley: 4.20 Monaadhil.

Racing Post Ratings: Simon Turner

El Astronaute(4.45 Goodwood)

Better than ever this year, displaying his usual bags of speed early on in his races. Won this race last year and fancied to go close again under impressive apprentice Jason Watson.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Boom The Groom(4.45 Goodwood)

Is on a lengthy losing run but won this race two years ago and can take advantage of a declining handicap mark.

Longshot: Olly Eden

Dutch Connection(3.00 Goodwood)

Ready winner of this event two years ago, Charlie Hills' charge has impressive form figures of 1211 at Goodwood. Fourth in the Lockinge on seasonal reappearance is solid form and although not firing the last twice when favourite, a return to this venue can see him in better light providing quick enough ground.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

Inscribe(7.40 Galway)

The Ger Lyons-trained four-year-old, a three-time winner from five attempts on turf, goes well on soft ground and makes plenty of appeal despite a 9lb rise in the ratings since his most recent win at the Curragh in May. He gets the vote to score under Colin Keane.
