Brighton Placepot picks: Richard Birch with his Monday perm

Big Bard is likely to have plenty of supporters in Brighton’s 6f handicap (1.50) after his near-miss at the track last week.

He looks sure to go close but bottomweight Ellie Piper, progressive at a low level recently, should be included in Placepot perms too.

Kyogo, a big eyecatcher on his Epsom debut when giving the 2-11 favourite Cool Party a fright, should have little difficulty going one better in the 7f maiden (2.25).

Aldabra, who shaped like a well-handicapped filly for a long way at Wolverhampton last time, will be suited by the shorter trip in the 1m2f apprentice handicap (3.00).

Silver Bubble loves Brighton and is bred to relish the softer ground she will experience in the 1m4f handicap (3.30). She is a strong fancy to confirm form with It’s How We Roll despite being 5lb worse off at the weights.

Platinum Prince romped home over course and distance last Monday and a follow-up success looks likely in the mile handicap (4.00).

The 7f handicap (4.30) is less straightforward but Redredrobin shouldn’t be far away and Voodoo Ray might run a big race in first-time cheekpieces.
