Young South African bowler can shine in opening ODI
Proteas begin World Cup preparations on home soil
South Africa will play 16 one-day internationals before their World Cup opener with England in May and they can start their preparations with a comfortable win against Zimbabwe.
Dale Steyn has returned to the Proteas squad after nearly two years away from the white-ball format but another opener looks value to rack up early wickets.
Lungi Ngidi was in inspired form in South Africa’s recent ODI triumph over Sri Lanka, taking ten wickets in the series with 4-57 in the third and decisive match. He can outperform fellow pace bowler Kagiso Rabada in Kimberley.
