Wrexham and Chester worth backing in the National League

Wrexham fans give their team a big finger

Kick-offs 3pm

Chester are in desperate trouble towards the foot of the National League but they can give their survival hopes a massive boost by beating fellow strugglers Guiseley at Nethermoor Park.

The match gives Chester a chance to exact swift revenge over Guiseley, who defeated them 2-0 at the Deva Stadium last Tuesday.

It was a poor performance from the Blues and they have had six days to digest it because Saturday's scheduled match at home to Hartlepool was postponed.

Chester might have preferred to play the Hartlepool game to get the previous performance out of their system but the extended break may give them an advantage over Guiseley, who were thumped 4-0 at Tranmere on Saturday.

Guiseley have won only two of their 12 home league games this season and look poor-value favourites to add a third.

Wrexham have just have the weekend off as their match at Gateshead was postponed and should be feeling fresher than Barrow, who they host at the Racecourse Ground.

Fifth-bottom Barrow lost 2-1 at home to basement boys Solihull Moors at the weekend and are unlikely to fare any better against fourth-placed Wrexham, who have lost just one home league game this season.
