Sweden are looking forward to a World Cup quarter-final for the first time since 1994 after Emil Forsberg's deflected second-half goal gave them a deserved 1-0 victory over Switzerland in Saint Petersburg.

The Swedes were available at pre-tournament odds of 150-1 to lift the trophy but have won three of their four games and shortened to 25-1.

Shortly after their success over the Swiss, Sweden were just 9-5 with Betway to reach the semi-finals.

Switzerland started the match as 13-8 favourites but created very few clear-cut chances.

It was the consecutive defeat in a World Cup round-of-16 defeat for the Swiss, who haven't reached the last eight since hosting the tournament in 1954.

Cristiano Ronaldo could be nearing the end of his nine-year spell with Real Madrid with Juventus reportedly close to securing his services.

The Italian side are said to be ready to pay 100 million Euros for the 33-year-old and the chances of a deal look strong after bookmaker Paddy Power cut their odds on a summer transfer to Juventus from 40-1 to 1-3 and other firms took their markets down.

Manchester United are odds-on with Ladbrokes to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham after punters backed the Belgian to make the move.

Alderweireld has shortened from 11-10 to 8-11 to make the switch to Old Trafford, while United winger Anthony Martial is 5-2 to move in the opposite direction and join Spurs.
