Wood's game may prove too solid
Poults and Sullivan could continue to struggle
Sky Sports 4, 3.30am Thursday
Dustin Johnson, Henrik Stenson and Danny Willett form the marquee threeball at 3.40am UK and Ireland time on day one of the Abu Dhabi Championship, but the best betting option may be in the 7.55am contest.
Chris Wood, whose maiden European Tour victory came in nearby Qatar in 2013, looks a big price at 2-1 to outscore Andy Sullivan and Ian Poulter.
Wood is coming off the best season of his career, having won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth and made his Ryder Cup debut, and two months off should have cleared the injury niggles which were bothering him at the end of the year.
Sullivan has yet to hit top form since the break-up of a relationship last summer. His first round of 2017 was a 78 in the SA Open and he missed the cut by five shots.
Poulter has shown nothing since his return from an injury layoff in October and must be worrying about where his career is heading.
