Sam Allardyce has no new injury concerns.
Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin are the Toon's latest injury victims. Callum Wilson and Fabian Schar were already out. Emil Krafth's shin injury is not as bad as first feared.
West Brom versus Newcastle looks even more important than a typical six-pointer for both clubs, but it probably won't live up to the hype.
It seems likely that this showdown will be awful and backing the match to feature fewer than two goals may be the best way to profit from that.
The Baggies have been a slightly warmer order this week, doubtless because of the civil war which seems to be engulfing St James' Park yet again, though making a case for either team to come out on top doesn't look easy given they are both poor.
An absence of goals does seem likely given the shocking nature of both front lines and the defensive obsession of both managers, but the layers are aware of that with under 2.5 goals no bigger than 4-6.
Baggies boss Sam Allardyce reckons the Geordies have an edge because they haven't played this week.
That's possibly a help, but Newcastle are also ravaged by injuries to an extent that the three players responsible for 60 per cent of their goal output – Callum Wilson, Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin – aren't playing. The most prolific goal-getter the embattled Steve Bruce can pick is two-goal Jeff Hendrick.
Albion have won just twice under Allardyce and they needed two penalties against Wolves and two penalties missed against them by Brighton to get those.
Last time out West Brom looked okay when losing 1-0 to Everton and Newcastle were reasonable in their draw with Wolves, but neither side inspires any sort of confidence.
West Brom average a league-low 7.9 shots per game.
