Warwickshire batsman Sam Hain could play major role in North Group decider
Warwickshire v Worcestershire
Sky Sports Cricket, 2pm Thursday
Worcestershire head to Warwickshire for a contest that will decide who finishes top of the North Group of the One-Day Cup with the prize of a home semi-final at stake.
Warwickshire's veteran batsmen have been rolling back the years with Jonathan Trott scoring back-to-back centuries in his last two outings and Ian Bell hitting an unbeaten 145 in the win over Durham.
But 22-year-old Sam Hain has also enjoyed the 50-over campaign, racking up scores of 108, 102 not out, 72, seven and 69 not out in his five One-Day Cup innings.
The Hong Kong-born number three is a tempting bet to top-score while the match betting looks a tricky proposition with Warwickshire 8-11 favourites.
Worcestershire, who have won five of their seven games this summer, have Moeen Ali available before he joins up with England's one-day squad. And Australia's Callum Ferguson, whose three county innings include 192 against Leicestershire and 159 not out against Northamptonshire, should be fit despite a quad strain.
While the group winners go straight through to the semis, the second- and third-placed teams face a quarter-final against a side from the South Group.
Yorkshire, at home to Northants, and Nottinghamshire, who host Derbyshire, are the sides scrapping for a top-three spot
The knockout stages won't concern bottom two Leicestershire and Durham, who meet at Grace Road, but the visitors are worth a small bet for victory.
Leicestershire have lost six out of seven this term but Durham's two wins have come in their last four fixtures and they also put up a decent fight against Warwickshire, posting 299-8 batting first.
