Villarreal's home horrors may continue

Match betting

Barca's Sergio Busquets upends Villarreal's Alexandre Pato
1 of 1

B Monchengladbach v Fiorentina
BT Sport Showcase, 6pm Thursday

Borussia Monchengladbach had a tough Champions League group but they acquitted themselves well when both Barcelona and Man City visited Borussia Park and they can take control of this tie with a victory.

Fiorentina have struggled on the road when they have come up against the better teams in Serie A – losing to Juventus, Inter, Lazio, Napoli and Roma – and could struggle.

Recommendation
Monchengladbach

Legia Warsaw v Ajax
BT Sport 3, 8.05pm Thursday

Legia Warsaw lost 6-0 at home to Borussia Dortmund in their Champions League group-stage opener but the Poles improved throughout the competition to clinch a Europa League spot with a 1-0 win over Sporting Lisbon.

Legia’s scored four against Dortmund in Germany and also drew 3-3 with Real Madrid so they could be underrated against an Ajax side who won just one of their three away group games.

Legia Warsaw

Villarreal v Roma
BT Sport Showcase, 8.05pm Thursday

Villarreal are struggling to win games and they make little appeal against a strong Roma team packed with European experience.

The Yellow Submarine have won just one of their last six matches at El Madrigal – against La Liga strugglers Granada – and have found goals hard to come by.

Roma games are generally more exciting than those of their opponents but they will be content to keep things close and return to Italy in touch.

Recommendation
Under 2.5 goals
