Villarreal have the attacking talent to see off Eibar

It has been a troubled start to the season for Villarreal but despite their problems they remain a class act and should have little trouble seeing off a defensively-fragile Eibar.

The Yellow Submarine have won just two of their opening six league games and sacked manager Fran Escriba this week. His departure could turn out to have a positive impact on the side.

Villarreal’s 4-0 drubbing at promoted Getafe last weekend was the final straw for Escriba and a new lease of life under Javi Calleja, who had previously been in charge of the club's reserve side, may see them raise their game.

Calleja couldn't ask for more generous visitors than Eibar, who have shipped 13 times in their last four league games.

Jose Luis Mendilibar's troops were crushed 4-0 at home to Celta Vigo last weekend after a 6-1 hiding at Barcelona, and they have little margin for error against a side brimming with attacking talent.

Carlos Bacca and Cedric Bakambu are powerful frontmen who can hurt any rearguard in the division while lively winger Samu Castillejo is often the creator behind their success.

Villarreal are reliable on their own patch - they have lost just two of their last 11 home league games - and should be given a chance prove themselves despite their recent issues.
