Unterbuchner's heavy scoring can hurt McGeeney
German could be first to doubles
BT Sport 2, 6.45pm Saturday
Mark McGeeney battled back from 3-1 and 4-3 down to eventually get past Wayne Warren 5-4 in the quarter-finals and he could face another stiff test against Michael Unterbuchner.
Unseeded Unterbuchner has found a way past David Cameron, Jamie Hughes, Martin Phillips and Richard Veenstra to reach the last four and in many ways this contest has a similar feel to it as McGeeney's last-eight clash against Warren.
Like Warren, the German is a big scorer - he hit eight 180s in his preliminary match against Cameron - and while his double hitting can be a bit wayward the constant scoring pressure could take its toll on Gladiator.
It's likely that Unterbuchner will be first to the double in more legs that McGeeney and that makes the German an attractive play getting a 2.5-set start.
