Trump may have figured out Magician's trick
Make hay with delightful Day
J Trump v S Murphy BBC2 & Eurosport 2, 1pm
Judd Trump raced into a 5-1 lead and looked to be on track for a comfortable victory before Liang Wenbo rallied in the opening round of Alexandra Palace action but punters can expect the Ace to remain focused on a place in the semi-finals.
Trump came through that match 6-4, and while the scoreline gives the impression of a fairly tight clash, the contest was over fairly quickly.
Knocks of 50, 58, 72 and 83 in the first six frames from Trump swiftly extinguished the threat of Wenbo and should the Ace demonstrate that sort of scoring power again Murphy could struggle to stay with him.
Murphy is a classy cueman but he is unlikely to change his attacking style and that could play into Trump's hands.

J Higgins v R Day BBC2 & Eurosport 2, 7pm
Ryan Day showed terrific tenacity to battle back from 3-0 down against Ding Junhui in the first round and the Welshman looks a tasty bet getting a 2.5-frame start from John Higgins.
It wasn't just his fighting qualities that saw Day get past Ding. There was some high-quality break-building too. Dynamite hit runs of 79, 105 and 125 before sealing the match with a 115.
Higgins wriggled past fellow Scot Anthony McGill 6-4 in his opening contest but he is likely to face a stiffer test against Day.
