Tom Ford looks set to move up a gear at a venue he loves
Liang has been struggling to make his presence felt
Eurosport 1, from 9am Thursday
Tom Ford is seldom a cueman to place maximum faith in but he is a quality breakbuilder and looks capable of upsetting Liang Wenbo when the pair meet in the first round of the German Masters.
Last year wasn't the best for the Leicester potter but this term has been brighter.
Ford got the better of Neil Robertson to reach the Tempodrom and followed that by qualifying for the China Open earlier this week.
The East Midlander enjoyed a decent run to the last eight in Berlin last year, beating Judd Trump along the way, and if Ford was to reproduce that level he could cause Wenbo problems.
Liang is a talented performer but his day has been a while in coming. Not since the World Grand Prix in February last year has the Chinese been past the last 16 of an event – bar the novelty Six Red World Championship – and he could be in for another early exit.
