Bitter rivals Ajax and Feyenoord can serve up a thriller

Heavyweight showdown looks set to entertain

Feyenoord hotshot Steven Berghuis
1 of 1

Eredivisie
Sky Sports Red Button, 1.30pm Sunday

Feyenoord's dismal autumn has long been forgotten and they travel to Amsterdam for De Klassieker confident they can land an upset.

Whatever the result, this should be really entertaining with both teams desperate for wins.

Ajax need the points if they are to start eating into PSV’s lead at the top, while Feyenoord realistically have to beat the hosts if they are to stand any chance of closing the gap for a Champions League spot.

Both teams have scored in each of the last fixtures between these two bitter rivals and more of the same is anticipated.

Meanwhile, 16 of Ajax’s 18 league matches have produced three goals or more – ten have produced four goals or more – so expect plenty of fireworks.

Ajax are the top scorers in the Eredivisie with the goals coming from everywhere. Six different players have scored at least five, including Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who has proved a fine addition to the ranks.

But Feyenoord are unbeaten in seven since a 1-0 loss at Manchester City in November and their last away game before the break produced a stunning 7-0 romp at Sparta Rotterdam.

Steven Berghuis has scored six in his last four and there’s a real potency about Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.

Recommendation
Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals
