Amanda Anisimova vs Iga Swiatek prediction

She’s been dubbed the Queen of Clay after winning four French Open titles, she’s been utterly dominant on hard courts, but there were doubts that Iga Swiatek could ever triumph on the lawns of Wimbledon.

Now, after failing to reach the semi-final in five attempts, her chance has come and the Pole is just 4-9 to join the ranks of players who have won at the highest level on all three surfaces.

In her way stands Amanda Anisimova, seeded 13th, who is appearing in her first Grand Slam final but who could give Swiatek her toughest test in the tournament.

Former world number one Swiatek has been pretty untouchable at the All England Club this year, dropping only one set against a resurgent Caty McNally in round two. She also won a whopping 83 per cent of her first-serve points in her 6-2 6-0 semi-final victory over Belinda Bencic.

Anisimova, though, merits huge respect following victories in her last three wins over Linda Noskova, possibly the best of the many young Czech players, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and, in the semi-finals, top seed Aryna Sabalenka.

She has always had the talent to prosper in Grand Slam tournaments but it has taken Anisimova six years to get to a stage where she is finally complete enough to reach a first major final.

The conundrum for punters is how best to get with the outsider and backing Anisimova to win at least one set may be the best approach. Swiatek is 6-5 to win in straight sets, while Anisimova is 8-11 to win at least one set and that bet at least affords the Florida-based New Jersey native time to get into the match.

This will be the first time that these two have played each other,  but Anisimova, who won 60 per cent of her second-serve points against Sabalenka, is talented enough and now playing well enough to push Swiatek all the way.

Amanda Anisimova vs Iga Swiatek bet builder predictions

Amanda Anisimova to win at least one set

Anisimova may take time to settle in her first major singles final but Sabalenka's conqueror may be able to win at least one of the first two sets contested.

Over 22.5 games

Swiatek may encounter stiff resistance from her year-younger opponent, so there may be more chance of the match going long than some observers believe.

Amanda Anisimova to serve most double faults

Anisimova has served a total of 36 double faults in this year's Wimbledon women's singles compared to Swiatek's tally of 15.
