Starts 9.30am Monday

There’s British interest in India this week, with talented duo Naomi Broady and Laura Robson travelling to Mumbai hoping they have what it takes to see off a 32-strong field.

However, Broady suffered an opening-round defeat to the inexperienced Ipek Soylu in Thailand last week and has plenty to prove, while Robson has a tough starter against seasoned Belgian Yanina Wickmayer and shapes like a potential first-round casualty.

Instead punters should focus on Belarusian teenager Aryna Sabalenka, who can prove a cut above the opposition.

The top seed reached the final in Tianjin last month, where she found only the classy Maria Sharapova too good, and in time should prove much better than her world ranking of 79.

Sabalenka stunned US Open heroine Sloane Stephens when representing Belarus in the Fed Cup last week before giving powerhouse Coco Vandeweghe a run for her money and a reproduction of those efforts would see her tower over this field.
