Maria Sakkari is in great form and she should be backed to beat Anett Kontaveit in their Miami Open second-round match.

These two know each other well, having met on four occasions with two victories apiece, so it's no surprise to see them closely-matched in the betting, although Sakkari has seen support and is now clear favourite.

There's little doubt that Sakkari is playing better tennis, however, as demonstrated by her run to the last 16 in Indian Wells where she saw off a power-packed trio in Donna Vekic, Ashleigh Barty and Coco Vandeweghe before falling to tournament winner Naomi Osaka.

Kontaveit played well throughout the middle stages of the 2017 season but her form fell away at the start of the US hard-court campaign and she is yet to recapture her best.

The Estonian looks vulnerable against Sakkari, who beat her in a qualifier at this venue two years ago and eased past Aleksandra Krunic in the opening round on Tuesday.

Recommendation
M Sakkari
