Jaziri could play his part in desert and make Fucsovics toil

Hungarian may find Tunisian harder to sweep aside on clay

Gran Prix Hassan II
Day three, 11am Wednesday

Marton Fucsovics has done well to finally make his mark on the ATP Tour after struggling for years to justify the promise he displayed as a junior.

Fucsovics has plenty of power which entitles him to respect, particularly on faster courts. The Hungarian is no mug on clay too, but he looks to be priced a little short to dismiss Malek Jaziri in their Grand Prix Hassan II opener in Marrakech.

Jaziri is the only non-Moroccan wild-card in the tournament, but the Tunisian is such a popular performer in warmer-climate events that he's a big draw and receives plenty of crowd support.

He could be competent enough on clay to at least not let Fucsovics run away with victory. But a handicap of 3.5 games is not that attractive given that the favourite is capable of hammering some opponents, while anyone backing Jaziri to win at least a set at 4-5 could only be hopeful at best.

Instead, the best way to have an interest on the clash could be to back it to last for at least 21 games at 8-11.

There is WTA action live on Wednesday from Lugano (BT Sport 3, 10am & 4.30pm) and Bogota (BT Sport 1, 4pm).

Recommendation
M Jaziri v M Fucsovics over 20.5 games
