Monday's French Open predictions
The top half of the French Open men's draw is bubbling up nicely, with four of the world's top six players – Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper, and Novak Djokovic – all cruising into the fourth round in Paris.
British number one Draper should be expected to get past Alexander Bublik, while compatriot Cameron Norrie faces a monumental challenge against 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic.
In the women’s draw, second seed Coco Gauff will also need to be at her best when she meets Ekaterina Alexandrova in the round of 16.
Jack Draper vs Alexander Bublik predictions
Jack Draper delivered a ruthless straight-sets win over Brazilian prospect Joao Fonseca in the third round and looks poised to repeat that performance against Alexander Bublik.
It’s been a stellar few months for Draper who, after triumphing at Indian Wells, has shown he can thrive on clay, with runs to the Madrid final and the quarters in Rome.
Draper was composed and confident in his win over Fonseca. Bublik, with his variety, will test him in different ways, but the Kazakhstani is not operating at the same level as the Brit.
Draper has won their last two meetings in straight sets and should secure a quarter-final spot in style.
Jack Draper's potential path to the French Open final
Stage | Opponent |
Round of 16 | Alexander Bublik |
Quarter-finals | Jannik Sinner or Andrey Rublev |
Semi-finals | Alexander Zverev, Tallon Griekspoor, Cameron Norrie or Novak Djokovic |
Alexander Zverev vs Tallon Griekspoor predictions
While the big four in the men’s top half are all heavy favourites, Alexander Zverev could face the sternest test when he meets Tallon Griekspoor.
Last year’s Roland Garros runner-up has looked comfortable so far, dropping only one set across his first three matches.
However, Griekspoor has proven a tricky opponent for Zverev in the past, beating him twice, including at Indian Wells in March when he prevailed in straight sets.
The Dutchman has won at least a set in four of their last five meetings, and the pair fought out a tense clash in Munich in April, which Zverev won 6-7 7-6 6-4.
Zverev should win, but Griekspoor can push the match to at least four sets.
Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Coco Gauff predictions
After a scrappy 6-1 7-6 third-round win over Marie Bouzkova, Coco Gauff will need to raise her game against the dangerous Ekaterina Alexandrova.
Gauff’s forehand looked shaky against Bouzkova, and Alexandrova, a semi-finalist on clay in Charleston and Stuttgart this season, could expose any chinks in her armour.
Alexandrova has yet to drop a set at Roland Garros this year and has beaten Gauff before, on grass in Berlin in 2023. She looks well placed to stay on the right side of a 4.5-game handicap start.
