European Open final preview

Andy Murray will play his friend and rival Stan Wawrinka in the European Open final after the Scot fought back to edge out Ugo Humbert 3-6 7-5 6-2 in the Antwerp semi-finals.

It was plain sailing for Wawrinka in a 6-3 6-2 humbling of Jannik Sinner.

Murray, who will contest his first final since undergoing a major hip operation earlier this year, was 12-1 before the event started.

But the Scot has belied those odds with some determined efforts in Belgium and Murray may be worth a punt to win at least a set against Wawrinka.

In other finals, Denis Shapovalov is in pole position to win his maiden main-tour title when he meets Filip Krajinovic in the Stockholm Open.

Belinda Bencic, who has sealed her place in the year-ending WTA Finals in Shenzhen next week, will play Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the WTA Kremlin Cup final in Moscow.
