Simona Halep's interest in the China Open did not last long with the world number one retiring after losing the first set of her opening match 6-1 to Ons Jabeur, but the qualifier may struggle to follow up in Beijing.

Jabeur's next singles outing is against Donna Vekic, who opened with a 6-1 6-4 mauling of Maria Sakkari, and the Croat should outclass the Tunisian number one in China.

Big-hitters can back Vekic at odds-on for victory, but regular punters could also find the favourite capable of conceding a start to Jabeur.

Backing Vekic to win in straight sets at odds-against can be considered, but it may be worth taking a shorter price about her giving up 2.5 games.

Recommendation
D Vekic -2.5 games
