Brilliant Novak Djokovic set to dominate clash with old rival Kevin Anderson
Sascha Zverev value to shock Federer
BBC2 & Sky Sports Arena, 2pm Saturday
Federer v Zverev
Roger Federer has won the ATP World Tour Finals a record-breaking six times but the Swiss great could see his 2018 season end at the hands of German star Alexander Zverev.
Zverev has been criticised for his performances in Grand Slams but his record in Masters 1000 events – all of which feature best-of-three set matches – is excellent. The 21-year-old has won Masters titles in Rome, Montreal and Madrid over the last two seasons and played fine tennis to take down John Isner and reach the semi-finals at the O2 Arena for the first time.
One of Zverev’s greatest assets is his huge serve which, when working correctly, allows him to easily get through games. His first-serve percentage was at 75 per cent against Isner and he won 85 per cent of points behind it.
Federer bounced back from an opening defeat against Kei Nishikori as he beat Dominic Thiem and Kevin Anderson in straight sets but the 37-year-old is not always returning the ball with customary sharpness and that will encourage Zverev.
The German will not be short of confidence either, having beaten Federer twice already in his short career, so he’s worth backing to make the final at the expense of the Swiss.
Recommendation
A Zverev

Djokovic v Anderson
Novak Djokovic has looked in unstoppable form in London, storming through the Guga Kuerten Group without dropping a set in three matches which were barely competitive.
The world number one is a firm favourite to take the title and equal Federer's Tour Finals record this week and he's likely to see off Kevin Anderson with little bother if their head-to-head record is anything to go by.
Djokovic leads 7-1, winning each of the last seven meetings between the pair including this season's Wimbledon final and most recently in the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters.
Anderson is enjoying his first O2 appearance but Djokovic's brilliant return game will allow him to counter the South African's serve, which is something he has done to good effect all week.
Zverev, Marin Cilic and John Isner all possess massive serves but only Cilic was able to force a tiebreak in Friday's dead rubber. It may pay to expect Djokovic to cover a 4.5-game handicap.
Recommendation
N Djokovic -4.5 games
