Two improving youngsters go to war for a place in the semi-final in New York and Miomir Kecmanovic should be taken to get rid of Frenchman Ugo Humbert.

Unlike Humbert, the Serbian 20-year-old has yet to win an ATP Tour title but he has started the year brightly with a run to the semi-finals in Doha last month the pick of his efforts.

Kecmanovic got the better of Jordan Thompson, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Marton Fucsovics before running into an inspired Andrey Rublev in Qatar and he should take some stopping.

The Belgrade ace looked strong in his triumphs over Tommy Paul and Paulo Lorenzi and he can silence Humbert, who was soundly beaten in both of their meetings last year.
