Betting preview

It is the turn of the Green Group at the ATP Finals in Turin on Wednesday and world number one Novak Djokovic should take his tally to two from two with victory over Andrey Rublev.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion recorded a 7-6 6-2 win over Casper Ruud in Monday’s curtain-raiser at Pala Alpitour, and ought to double up against the Russian.

The Serb is 8-11 with Betfair for another routine win, but backing the opening set to feature at least ten games at the same price looks a better punting proposition.

With that tiebreak against Ruud, the first set in six of Djokovic’s last eight matches has lasted at least ten games and Rublev served well enough in his success over Stefanos Tsitsipas to suggest he can offer early resistance.

The Greek world number four was unable to break Rublev, who ran out a convincing 6-4 6-4 winner and had a first serve percentage of 92 per cent. Over 9.5 first set service games has now clicked in five of his last six starts.

The other Green Group contest sees Tsitsipas tackle ATP Finals debutant Ruud, although picking a winner looks fraught with danger.
