Alexander Zverev's progress looked to be faltering over the first three months of the 2018 season but the German has rediscovered his form and can beat John Isner in the final of the ATP Miami Open.

Zverev, already a two-time Masters 1000 champion, split with coach Juan Carlos Ferrero earlier this year in bitter circumstances - the 2003 French Open champion was highly critical of the 20-year-old's attitude, something which Zverev disagreed with.

Results this season have supported Ferrero's claims but the youngster has been back in business in Miami amid rumours that he's set to start working with Ivan Lendl, who coached Andy Murray throughout the most successful period of his career.

Zverev has struggled to make his mark in grand slams but has tasted glory in best-of-three Masters events by winning in Rome and Montreal last year. He also boasts a 3-0 head-to-head record against Isner, including a victory in this event last year.

The giant American also made a slow start to the season but he's making up for lost time in Miami with victories over grand slam winners Marin Cilic and the in-form Juan Martin del Potro.

Zverev, though, has the ability to return Isner's massive serve and the veteran, who has lost three Masters Series finals, could start to feel the pressure as he chases the biggest title of his career at Crandon Park.
