The San Francisco 49ers lost Jimmy Garoppolo for the rest of the season last week, meaning they are now down to their third-choice quarterback in Brock Purdy.

Purdy put in a solid effort in last week’s win over the Dolphins but now will be locked in a QB duel with Tom Brady when the Buccaneers come to town.

As a result of Garoppolo’s injury and Tampa’s struggles on offence, the points line for this match has absolutely plummeted. However, that has opened the door for some value in backing overs.

Purdy proved in that victory over Miami that he could be at least serviceable, and the 49ers offence are largely built around the run game anyway. With Christian McCaffrey still operating out of the backfield and Deebo Samuel around, this team still have plenty of upside when it comes to putting points on the board.

As for the Buccaneers, Brady should continue to be aggressive in the passing game. The Bucs have the highest passing play percentage in the NFL and after last week’s late comeback win against the Saints, they are likely to stay on the attack.

This game is unlikely to turn into a total shootout, but there is enough ability on both offences to go over this low total.
