Match preview

Scotland surged into the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup thanks to impressive victories over Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea and Oman but they were crushed by 130 runs against Afghanistan on Monday.

They have a decent chance of bouncing back against fellow first-round qualifiers Namibia and they will be desperate to get a win on the board before facing Group Two big hitters New Zealand, India and Pakistan.

Scotland collapsed ignominiously against Afghan spinners Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan, who had combined figures of 9-29 in 6.2 overs.

However, it is worth noting that their innings of 60 all out started with an opening stand of 28 from 20 balls between George Munsey and experienced captain Kyle Coetzer and they should take a similarly aggressive approach against Namibia's new-ball bowlers.

Munsey is a dashing opener with a batting strike-rate of 151 in Twenty20 internationals and he can help Scotland make a faster start than their opponents in the first six overs.

Namibia's success has largely been built on middle-order heroics from former South Africa international David Wiese and none of their three openers they have used has a strike-rate better than 85 at this tournament.
