Wolves 1-0 Brighton
Despite sitting eighth and 11th respectively, only three teams have netted fewer goals than this pair in the Premier League this season and their success has been built largely on strong defensive foundations. It was 1-0 to Wolves when these two met at the Amex in December and this return clash at Molineux may follow a similar narrative.
Southampton 2-2 Crystal Palace
Only one place splits this pair in the Premier League and, after an entertaining 2-2 draw between the sides at Selhurst Park over the festive period, goals may again be the way to go at St Mary’s. The net has bulged at both ends in 20 of Southampton’s 34 league games and they also shared the spoils in a four-goal thriller at Brighton last weekend.
Aston Villa 2-0 Norwich
Norwich are all-but down in the Premier League and they have managed only nine points in 16 away games, losing seven of their last nine on the road. Villa have been out of form too but they can get back on track against the Canaries, who have failed to score ten times on their travels this season.
Watford 0-1 Burnley
Sean Dyche's sacking may have raised a few eyebrows but it is having the desired effect, with Burnley taking seven points from three games under interim manager Mike Jackson. The Clarets have recorded back-to-back wins to nil against Southampton and Wolves and can repeat the trick at Watford, who have lost their last ten home league games.
Blackburn 1-1 Bournemouth
Automatic promotion to the Premier League is still in Bournemouth's hands but they have drawn four of their last five Championship clashes and may have to settle for another point at Ewood Park. For all their recent struggles, Blackburn have lost only five of their 22 home league matches.
Nottingham Forest 2-0 Swansea
Nottingham Forest are finishing the Championship season with a flourish and can keep up the pressure on second-placed Bournemouth with a home victory over Swansea. The Tricky Trees triumphed 1-0 at Fulham on Tuesday, meaning they have now won eight of their last nine and conceded only three goals in that period.
