Stuttgart could find life tough at Bielefeld
Arminia have found form at just the right time
BT Sport 1, 7.30pm Monday
The race for promotion from Bundesliga 2 is heating up and Stuttgart desperately need a victory at struggling Arminia Bielefeld to keep up with the pace.
Hannover's 1-0 win over fourth-placed Eintracht Braunschweig on Saturday left Stuttgart two points in arrears, but they could face a difficult task despite their opponents being deep in relegation trouble in 17th place.
Stuttgart beat bottom side Karlruhe 2-0 in their most recent match but they have been stuttering of late having posted four draws and a defeat at Greuther Furth in their preceding five matches, which allowed the chasing pack to catch up.
Despite their status as the second tier's team to beat, Hannes Wolf's team have suffered some poor reverses on the road with a 3-0 defeat at Wurzburger and a 5-0 thumping at Dynamo Dresden in November.
Stuttgart will be desperate for top goalscorer Simon Terodde, who has scored 17 goals this season, to fire them to victory, but there are questions about their ability to get over the line.
The pressure is definitely on and Arminia should take great confidence from three wins and a draw in their last four matches to give themselves a chance of staying up.
Points are vital to both teams for different reasons and that could mean we are set for an entertaining encounter.
With nine of Arminia's last 13 matches having featured three goals or more and Stuttgart having scored in ten of their last 13 matches on the road, it is worth having a small bet on there being over 2.5 goals in this key clash.
