Strong Besiktas should crush Kasimpasa in Turkey

Besiktas could be celebrating again

Turkish Super Lig
5pm Friday

Besiktas have not lost a Turkish league home match in over two years and are worthy red-hot favourites to defeat mid-table Kasimpasa at Vodafone Park.

With 16 of the 34 league games still to play, Besiktas sit fourth in the table and have six points to make up on leaders Basaksehir.

It seemed that their title hopes had taken a knock when Cenk Tosun, their top scorer, was sold to Everton earlier this month. However, Besiktas have plenty of other exciting attacking players at the club.

In their first league game after the Tosun sale, Brazilian Anderson Talisca weighed in with two goals in a 2-1 win at Antalyaspor.

Manager Senol Gunes can also call on Spanish target man Alvaro Negredo, scorer of three goals in his last four games, and Dutch winger Ryan Babel, the club's second-top league scorer this term with seven from 17 appearances.

Besiktas have enough firepower to stay competitive in the title race and should be far too strong for Kasimpasa, who tend to struggle on the road.

Kasimpasa have lost six of their nine away games this season, including convincing defeats at Istanbul giants Galatasaray (2-0) and Fenerbahce (4-2).

They could soon find themselves struggling against Besiktas, who look a solid bet to be leading at half-time and full-time.
