Preview

Back for its 20th season, BBC One's hit dance contest Strictly Come Dancing returns to our screens this weekend with 15 celebrities set to battle it out for the iconic Glitterball.

Last year the show was won by its first deaf contestant Rose Ayling-Ellis, who had been pinpointed by bookmakers as favourite before the series began.

And this year it could once again pay to back the favourite as Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton's love of a challenge is sure to carry her far in the competition.

Skelton, who previously fronted Blue Peter, is no stranger to putting herself out of her comfort zone, having previously appeared on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and is known for her love of keeping fit.

She also has a bit of Strictly experience to her name, turning out for the Christmas Special in 2012, and she can draw confidence from the fact that five of the last 19 winners have been TV presenters - only actors and actresses have been more successful on the show.

Fleur East knows a thing or two about being in the spotlight, reaching the final of The X Factor in 2014 and the last four of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2018, and she can be backed at 4-1.

Actor Will Mellor, who has appeared in Hollyoaks and Coronation Street, is the highest-rated male contestant in the betting at 6-1, while Paralympic swimming gold medallist Ellie Simmonds will be hoping her penchant for winning will help her go the distance.

Arsenal footballing legend Tony Adams, radio presenter Tyler West and comedy talent Jayde Adams are among the others set to take to the dancefloor.
