Stokes the hero as England beat India in first Test
Joe Root's Lions are 10-11 to double their advantage at Lord's
England are 2-7 to win their five-Test series with India after sneaking a 31-run victory in the opening match at Edgbaston on Saturday.
Ben Stokes was the day-four hero with the ball for the Three Lions after India resumed their push for a target of 194 on 110-5, capturing the key wicket of away skipper Virat Kohli for 51, Mohammad Shami and Hardik Pandya, the final man to fall.
James Anderson had got England up and running in the morning by snaring Dinesh Karthik while controversially recalled leg-spinner Adil Rashid pinned Ishant Sharma in front with a googly.
Joe Root's hosts are 10-11 to double their advantage with victory in the second Test which starts at Lord's on Thursday. India are 9-4 to triumph at St John's Wood and 13-2 to take the series spoils. A Lord's stalemate is 5-1 and a series draw is 8-1.
The long-range forecast has two largely sunny days before rain on Saturday.
