Steady Cabrera-Bello to bank more euros

Oosthuizen undercooked after injury layoff

Rafa Cabrera-Bello has a fine record in Dubai
1 of 1

Starts 3.10am Thursday morning
Live on Sky Sports Golf from 4am

Danny Willett and Sergio Garcia have each completed the Dubai Desert Classic and Masters double the last two years, and one bookmaker is laying odds on players repeating the dose.

The 40-1 Sky Bet are offering about Rory McIlroy winning this week, then finally becoming Masters champion in April, may see some action, although McIlroy is freely available at 9-1 for the first Major of the season, so backing him for Dubai and playing up winnings straight away is a better option.

Rafa Cabrera-Bello at 10-11 to defeat Louis Oosthuizen is the most appealing Desert Classic match-bet price. Oosthuizen withdrew from the Joburg Open before Christmas after injuring his fingers, then he finished 49th in the low-grade Singapore Open last week on his return to action.

Oosthuizen, rarely that keen to hit the practice ground, looks seriously undercooked, having played in only three strokeplay events in the last four months. His only previous start at the Emirates in the last seven years resulted in a missed cut by four shots in 2016.

Cabrera-Bello, who hardly ever misses the cut in regulation European Tour events, was Desert Classic champion in 2012 and runner-up in 2016.

Recommendation
R Cabrera-Bello to beat L Oosthuizen
3pts 10-11 Betfred
