Steady Bjork to leave threeball rivals in his wake
Swede well suited to challenging track
Glamour threeballs are difficult to identify in the low-key Rocco Forte Open, but punters seeking profit rather than entertainment should consider backing Swedish grinder Alexander Bjork for the 11.55am match.
Bjork is a precision operator who should be able to plot a safe passage along Verdura Golf Club. His form this season has been strong and his record in Italy is equally solid, so there is every reason to believe he can be a title contender this week.
Bjork is up against Haydn Porteous and Matthew Southgate in his first-round threeball.
Porteous is one of the wildest drivers on the circuit and the South African is likely to come unstuck with so many tight targets off the tee. Water is often waiting to punish the seriously errant on this layout.
Southgate has failed to sparkle this season, missing five cuts in ten events and finishing no better than 14th. Bjork can boast five top-20s this term.
