Sporting should see off poor-travelling Olympiakos

Sporting Lisbon fans could have plenty to celebrate
1 of 1

Champions League Group D
Live on BT Sport Extra 1, 7.45pm Wednesday

Sporting have acquitted themselves well in a tough section and can keep their qualification hopes alive by beating Olympiakos in Lisbon.

Olympiakos showed their stubborn side by holding Barcelona to a 0-0 draw in Athens on matchday four but they don't tend to put up much resistance on their European travels.

The Greeks lost 2-0 to Juventus in Turin on matchday two and went down 3-1 at Barcelona last month despite playing the entire second half against ten men.

Olympiakos need a victory to maintain hopes of qualifying for the Europa League and may play a little more positively than they usually do on their travels.

However, they have looked the poorest team in the group and are heading for another defeat against slick Sporting, who have lost one home match this season – a 1-0 reverse to Barcelona.

Recommendation
Sporting -1 on Asian handicap
