Sporting should find the net against Barca

Barcelona's Leo Messi toys with the Osasuna defence

Champions League
BT Sport Extra, 7.45pm Wednesday

Barcelona have shrugged off the departure of Neymar by making a faultless start to the season and they can stay in control of Champions League Group D by beating Sporting in the Portuguese capital.

Lionel Messi seems to be taking on even greater responsibility and has scored 11 goals in his last six appearances.

By comparison Luis Suarez has been becalmed – scoring twice in four games – but he was on target in Saturday's 3-0 success at Girona and poses a huge threat.

Barcelona have also defended well, conceding two goals in six La Liga matches, and look far more solid than they were in last season's knockout stages.

However, they may struggle to register a shutout against free-scoring Sporting, who have scored 21 goals in their last eight matches.
