Jeremy Hunt trimmed after Boris Johnson ducks US Ambassador issue
Jeremy Hunt has been trimmed from 12-1 to 10-1 by Ladbrokes to become the next Prime Minister after going head-to-head with Boris Johnson in an ITV leadership debate on Tuesday night.
Hunt delivered a combative performance which included criticism of US President Donald Trump over comments about Sir Kim Darroch, the UK's ambassador to the US.
During the debate Johnson had been asked whether or not he would keep Sir Kim in the post and he refused to give a straight answer.
However, the thorny issue of whether or not to support Sir Kim was removed on Wednesday when the 65-year-old resigned from his post.
But the outcome of the Tory leadership race seems largely unchanged with Johnson the red-hot 1-16 favourite to emerge victorious.
Postal voting by Tory members began last week and the result is scheduled to be announced on July 22.
