South Africa can consolidate superb ODI form with help from De Kock
Wicketkeeper-batsman can heap more misery on Sri Lanka
South Africa have already won their one-day international series against Sri Lanka, leading 3-0 going into the final two matches, and their opening batsmen can shine in the fourth ODI in Kandy.
Captain Faf du Plessis will miss the remaining ODIs due to injury but Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock can carry the bulk of the batting burden at the top of the order.
De Kock was dismissed cheaply in the third ODI but registered 47 and 87 in the first two matches, while Amla has amassed 111 runs in the series with Sri Lanka’s key bowlers struggling to find rhythm.
While Amla could outperform him at the crease, De Kock also has the chance to impress behind the stumps, where he has taken nine catches in the series, and he is a strong candidate for a man-of-the-match display against struggling Sri Lanka.
