Group five of the Championship League: betting preview and tip

Championship League snooker is most definitely not a medium for betting big on, but there's a good-quality look to Group Five which features Mark Selby, Barry Hawkins, Luca Brecel, Stephen Maguire, Anthony McGill, Joe Perry and Ali Carter.

Neil Robertson, Jack Lisowski, Judd Trump and Stuart Bingham have been the four group winners this year.

Selby made the semi-finals of Group Three and the final of Group Four, so the Group Five favourite is an obvious one to consider.

The only player in the field who has been struggling with his game is McGill and the Scot is outsider to top the standings in the next two days.

Selby played well in his opening match in the Masters last week before he was soundly beaten by Trump in the last eight.

He may not want to hang around in Coventry for much longer so the Jester could be worth a shout.
