Saturday's Gibraltar Open snooker betting preview, tip & TV details

Ross Muir should progress with something to spare against amateur Kevin van Hove

Kyren Wilson may have to be on top of his game from the outset in Gibraltar

Eurosport 1, from 8.30am Saturday

Ross Muir has been making strides this season and the Scotsman should be able to defeat amateur Kevin van Hove with something to spare in their Gibraltar Open clash.

All the matches are the best of nine frames and while Belgian amateur champion Van Hove won the European Amateur Championship in 2007, that was a long time ago.

Muir has always possessed ability and has been a bit of an underachiever, but the 23-year-old's best years almost certainly lie ahead and he can make light of a 1.5-frame handicap concession.

Gibraltar title favourite Kyren Wilson may have to be on top of his game in his opener against Northern Irishman Jordan Brown.

Recommendation
R Muir -1.5 frames
