Jack Lisowski is still chasing his maiden title but his performances are improving and his game looks in good enough nick to upset world champion Mark Williams in the quarter-finals of the World Open in Yushan.

Lisowski kicked off his campaign with a run to the final of the Riga Masters last week and his excellent form has continued in China with Mark Allen and Kyren Wilson - two established top-16 performers - having their tournaments cut short by him.

Williams has lost only four frames in beating Alexander Ursenbacher, Ben Woollaston and Joe Perry, but Lisowski poses a different test and his aggressive and attacking style could cause the Welsh Wonder problems.

Lisowski overcame Williams in the last 32 of the English Open last season and his fearless approach could be what is needed to silence a rejuvenated Williams.

The winner will face talented Thai Noppon Saengkham or home hope Xiao Guodong for a place in the final.
