Ding Junhui kept his hopes alive of a home triumph after coming through a decider against Mark Selby to set-up a semi-final date against Barry Hawkins in the Shanghai Masters.

Junhui, Racing Post Sport's outright selection, is 4-7 to reach the final and deserves favouritism but he won't find it easy against Hawkins, who beat world champion Mark Williams 6-4.

It was some revenge for Hawkins' Crucible semi-final defeat to Williams and battling Barry was all class in his last-16 victory over Stephen Maguire with four breaks of at least 90.

Ronnie O'Sullivan is 2-5 to beat Kyren Wilson in the first semi.
