Preview

Zhou Yuelong is getting better with experience and the Chinese youngster could be ready for a decent crack at baize stalwart John Higgins in the last 16 of the Betway UK Championship.

Zhou has done enough in recent outings to warrant support against the Wizard of Wishaw in an event the Scot has not always shone in. Higgins is a three-time winner of the UK, but two of his triumphs were way back in 1998 and 2000 and it's ten years since he last held the trophy aloft.

Zhou, who has seen off Peter Devlin, Jimmy White and Chang Bingyu in Milton Keynes, is one of the most talented of the Chinese players. But while inexperience has understandably cost him in the past there's a suggestion he may soon be ready to challenge the top brass in major events.

Higgins, victorious against Fergal O'Brien, Gerard Greene and Jak Jones in the Marshall Arena bubble, will be tough to beat but Zhou can be chanced with a handicap start of 2.5 frames.

Neil Robertson could be tough to stop when he faces off against Crucible semi-finalist Anthony McGill in another last-16 encounter.
