Preview

Tom Ford went well on his run to the semi-finals of the Coral World Grand Prix last week before faltering in his bid to reach the title match and the Leicester cueman could be keen to get going again in the Welsh Open.

An opening clash against Martin O'Donnell is not an easy task, but while the Londoner possesses a decent all-round game and merits respect he hasn't been hitting the headlines as he did in the past.

Ford remain a huge underachiever given the depth of his talent and the Foxes fan should be able to dominate the table-time and probably post the bigger breaks against the MoD.

Yan Bingtao has been inconsistent this season - there were reports the Riga Masters champion has been struggling with back pain in recent weeks - and Mitchell Mann could see support at 4-6 with a handicap start of 2.5 frames against the Chinese ace.
