It’s a surprise that Xiao is not shorter to open with a defeat of Gloucester’s Robert Milkins.

We haven’t heard much from the Milkman in recent months, while Xiao is a pretty consistent performer who operates at a reasonably high level.

Milkins is such a naturally talented player that he is not opposed easily. But looking at the bigger picture, with Xiao having achieved more in recent campaigns this is a match he ought to be winning.
