Day two
Eurosport 1, midday & 6pm Tuesday

Chris Wakelin remains one of the best young English players in terms of potential and he could have too much for Mei Xiwen in their European Masters opener in Belgium.

The Rugby native, an occasional practice partner of Kyren Wilson, was earmarked by none other than Steve Davis as a player to follow after first shining on the main tour.

Wakelin has arguably been a shade disappointing given his talent among the balls, but there is still plenty of time for him to do his best work.

Like a lot of Chinese players Mei has ability, but career expectations for him appear lower than some of his compatriots and he can be prone to inconsistency.

Underrated Birmingham potter Mitchell Mann can be considered on the handicaps against Stuart Bingham.

Recommendation
C Wakelin
1pt 4-5 general
