Midday Monday

Group 7 of the Championship League represents the last chance for John Higgins, Luca Brecel, Robert Milkins, Ricky Walden, Judd Trump, Li Hang and Dominic Dale to claim a spot in Wednesday's Winners Group.

Higgins and Trump are the big names and they dominate the section betting, but with the Scot having his first shot at qualification, and Trump having failed three times already, they look short enough.

The best play may be to take the 8-11 about Milkins beating late stand-in Dale in the opening round of group fixtures.

Milkins is not in the form that saw him ranked in the top 16 a few years ago, but he can still produce some top quality breaks, and perhaps his game hasn't slipped enough for him to be rated just a slight favourite against Dale.

A run to the quarter-final of the Northern Ireland Open at the end of last year suggests the Milkman can still deliver, and in Dale he plays a cueman who has produced little in the last 12 months.

However, it's a race to just three frames and given the low-key nature of the event stakes are best kept small.

Recommendation
R Milkins to beat D Dale
1pt 8-11 general
