Rely on Robert Milkins to deliver the goods in Glasgow
Matches start 10am Tuesday
Live on Eurosport 1 from 12.45pm
Robert Milkins was beaten by Betway UK Championship semi-finalist Tom Ford in York last week but the Milkman could float his way past Fergal O’Brien in the first round of the Scottish Open.
Milkins hasn’t been deep in a tournament for a while now, but a run to the last 16 in the English Open in October was followed by a last-32 appearance in the International Championship, suggesting his turn might not be long in coming.
O’Brien is a tough competitor but the Irishman has lost in the first round of the last four events he has played in and could find things tough in Glasgow.
Milkins is a gifted cueman and although this short best-of-seven-frame format brings the players closer together, the Bristol potter looks to have a stronger chance than quotes of 8-11 suggest.
Recommendation
R Milkins
