Day two, from 11am Thursday

The fact that the Romanian Masters opened with a pair of 4-0 scorelines suggests some players may be taking the inaugural invitation event more seriously than others this week.

Day two sees the players in the bottom half of the draw make their tournament bows and while many eyes will be on title favourite John Higgins, the best clash for a bet could be the meeting between Masters finalists Mark Allen and Kyren Wilson.

Allen took the honours 10-7 in north London in January, but Wilson had his chances that day and the Kettering cueman is not without a shout of taking a measure of revenge in Bucharest.

Wilson is 8-13 with a start of 1.5 frames, which means Allen has to win at least two-thirds of the frames contested to thwart handicap backers, and that could offer a smidgen of value.

Ali Carter will meet Stephen Maguire for a place in the semi-finals after both players posted whitewashes of respective rivals Mark Williams and Mark King on day one.

Recommendation
K Wilson +1.5 frames
1pt 8-13 Betway, Coral, Ladbrokes
