Zhou Yuelong avenged an early loss to Lyu Haotian in the Scottish Open in December and he should be able to nose in front in their personal series with victory over his fellow Chinese player in the Indian Open.

Both are talented performers but Lyu is more of a shrinking violet on the baize whereas the effervescent Zhou, who had a ton in a 4-1 win over wild-card Laxman Rawat in his Kochi curtain-raiser, will be disappointed to come out second best against his compatriot.

The oddsmakers differ over how likely Zhou is to triumph after he captured four of the six frames contested in Glasgow two months ago but the best prices available are definitely worth taking.

Welsh Open finalist Stuart Bingham continued his fine form with a 4-1 win over Peter Lines in round one.
